Factory reset on Phillips TV displays

Before you start

A factory reset restores the display to default settings and may remove existing configurations (including settings applied by another digital signage solution). Proceed carefully and only if you are confident in the steps below.

When would you use this?

Most commonly, a factory reset is helpful when you are migrating a screen from another digital signage platform to ScreenManager and the display has leftover configuration that prevents a clean setup (for example: locked menus, unusual network/app settings, or signage-related settings that don’t match your intended deployment).

Steps

1. Turn the display off and wait until the red IR indicator (standby light) turns on.

2. Turn on the display and using the remote control, press the following sequence to enter the Service Menu:

Home → 1 → 1 → 1 → 8

3. You may be asked to insert a PIN first. The default PIN for most Philips TVs is 0000, 1234, or 8888. If these do not work, try entering 0711 or, for some newer models, a master code or resetting the PIN via the TV’s menu.

4. The display will boot into the Service Menu. Choose Settings

Then depending on the model either press “Signage Display” > General Settings > Factory reset.
Use the arrow keys on the remote to navigate and then confirm.

4. The display will reboot and return to default settings.

After the reset

Once the display restarts, you can continue with your ScreenManager onboarding (network setup, display configuration, and player provisioning) as if the screen was freshly deployed.
